Electrically
powered attic fans are usually equipped with with a thermostat that
turns on the fan when the attic temperature reaches a certain point
and shuts off after the attic cools. Also be aware that building
codes, such as the National Electrical Code®, set basic standards
regarding the type of devices and wiring used, as well as appropriate
locations. Check with your local electrical or building inspection
office to see if a permit is required if a replacement is needed.
