Removing an Old Chimney

Q: I want to take down an old, small chimney that is on the roof, and runs down between the living room and the kitchen.

A: The amount of mess and expense will be determined by whether (or if) you can remove the chimney on the roof and seal up and enclose the part that runs down through the house or totally remove it. If you have been remodeling for nine years, hopefully you have had dealings with a good general contractor, because that is the type of service professional you need to come evaluate your situation.

To locate a reputable general contractor, please visit us at http://www.servicemagic.com, join as a member (it's free) and let us help you find the ideal service professional in your area.

Good luck!
