Painting Next to a Door Frame

painting and staining
Q: What are the best methods for painting a wall next to a door frame without getting paint on the door frame? Any answer appreciated except taping (it always leaks through).

A: Thanks for your inquiry. The more contrast in color the tougher it is to cut a straight line. The best way is to use a good brush and only practice will make you better. It is always better to get some paint on the frame than to cut it short. You can use tape, but just try to paint like it is not there. That will prevent paint from bleeding through.
